Director of Laulima & Founder
Evan founded Battle Scar Initiative to help veterans, families, and communities recover through direct action, volunteer service, disaster response, and long-term resilience work. His background in military service, EMS, firefighting, nonprofit work, and community organizing guides the mission forward.

Director of Lokahi
David provides operational integrity, medical oversight, and leadership accountability for Battle Scar Initiative. With decades of experience in healthcare leadership, emergency response, and veteran advocacy, he helps ensure the organization operates ethically, professionally, and mission-first.
Doug Kaplan
Moʻolelo & Global Impact Advisor
Doug brings together cinematic storytelling, environmental science, and humanitarian media strategy to help share Battle Scar’s mission with the world. Through documentary film, partnerships, and visual storytelling, he helps bridge community impact with global awareness.

Andrew Howard
Strategic Finance & Sustainability Advisor
Andrew helps Battle Scar Initiative build the financial structure needed for long-term impact. Drawing on more than 30 years in investment banking, capital strategy, and asset management, he advises on sustainable funding models, partnerships, and financial systems that support disaster recovery, community resilience, and responsible growth.
